Wine Making

Wine making has been popular for many centuries. Popularized by the “I Love Lucy” skit, wine making used to be more physically involved. Wine makers would stomp the grapes with their feet as part of a long and ceremonious occasion. Now, making wine is as easy as buying a wine making kit.

Wine is made when yeast is added to grape juice. Wine making can be very easy, or very complex, depending on what you’re interested in taking on. Many enjoy simple wine making as a hobby, and a great way to give personalized gifts. For those who are interested in an easy wine making process, Table Top Brewing sells wine-making kits and accessories.

Just about any fruit can be made into wine. Grapes are obviously the most common fruit used in wine, but other fruits include raspberries, blackberries (and some even use some plants and flowers). These different berries and plants may be used to alter the flavors of wine. We carry several kits with a variety of juices.

Supplies for Wine Making

It’s a good idea to use equipment specifically designed and designated for wine making. Reusing pails or previously-owned other equipment may not output your desired wine flavor. Buckets and spoons have the tendency to pick up food odors from previous uses. We recommend purchasing adequate equipment specifically used for your wine making.
