Columbus is a high alpha variety and has a pungent aroma and clean bittering. Excellent for bitter ales and American IPA styles, Stouts and can be dramatic when dry hopped. (average alpha acid: 12%)
Relatively new variety becoming increasingly accepted. Used for bittering mainly, good flavor.
